AmFiBi introduces:
Thinking (with Foucault) beyond Foucault?
A debate with Daniel Zamora and Mitchell Dean
Date: December 15, 2016, 16:00~19:00
Location: University of Amsterdam, Oude Manhuispoort D0.09
Is Foucault a Neoliberal after all? Over the past year a lively debate has developed, initiated by Daniel Zamora, about Foucault’s flirtations with Neoliberalism (as the dissemination of the model of the market to all domains and activities). Mitchell Dean, on the other hand, has always defended a more radical, rather than liberal, reading of Foucault. What would Foucault’s position be on today’s Neoliberal hegemony? A debate between Zamora and Dean urges us to focus on the question on whether to think with Foucault beyond Foucault or whether to leave him behind.
